Cynic- "Re-Traced" E.P.

"Re-Traced", CYNIC's upcoming EP made of four remakes of songs from the "Traced in Air" album, a previously unreleased track and a video, is set for a May 17th release. Here is the artwork and tracklisting:
1. Space
2. Evolutionary
3. King
4. Integral
5. Wheels Within Wheels
Frontman Paul Masvidal comments: "The artwork on the EP takes Venosa's original song paintings from the 'Traced in Air' booklet and reinterprets them by extracting the basic outlines, almost appearing as though they are etched in wood. Travis Smith helped manifest these conceptions graphically. The idea was to have the 'tracing' of the original work in tact, so it almost morphs into a simple line drawing of the sculptural shapes found in Venosa's work. The end result appears like unearthed, archival etchings from an alien planet."

Gorillaz-Plastic Beach ( Review)

What a fucking album. Gorillaz are know to really take it to the limit with their Un-Catagorizeable brand of funk. You can sorta call 'em Hip-Hop, I men fuck, they have guest MC's Mos Def and Snoop Dogg, and on Lupe Fiasco's Trials And Tribulations Mixtape Volume 1, Lupe drops some fire with Feel Good Inc. for the back up music. But old 'em up, they got Paul Simon on this drop to....
Anyway, this album does not disappoint for all Gorillaz fans. The trippy tracks, the sexy tracks, and the songs that make you wanna hit cheese. If you want simple beautiful tracks there's the tracks "Rhinestone Eyes", "On Melancholy Hill"(my favorite), "Cloud Of Unknown", the droney "Pirate Jet".
Every other track fills in the gaps of what Gorilaz is able to get away wit doing and having you fucking love it.

Ceremony Dropping Rohnert Park June 8th

Official press release:
Bay Area CA's Ceremony are excited to announce the release of their third full-length, Rohnert Park, which will be available on June 8th 2010 via Bridge Nine Records. Rohnert Park is the band's finest material to date and mixes elements from their past work while exploring new territory for the band. This new album is equal parts aggressive and incendiary and, dare we say it, catchy. Don't let that fool you, though; Ceremony's punk stomp is apparent on Rohnert Park and Ross Farrar's vocals are as ranting as ever. Recorded this past winter in Oakland, CA with Dan Rathbun (Tragedy, From Ashes Rise), Rohnert Park is unsafe, noisy, dynamic, and pissed. And, most importantly, impressive.
Just north of San Francisco in Sonoma County is Rohnert Park, CA, where several members of Ceremony grew up. The band commented, "Where the owls can't seem to find, yet the geese are well known. Here, you are bound for the pageant, or bound for the bars. Fingers are pointed without the facts. Truth has no direction. You are useless here. Rohnert Park is desolate. Rohnert Park is majestic."
Ceremony has returned with a record that will cement them as one of the most destructive and meaningful bands that punk and hardcore has seen in years. Look for Rohnert Park in stores on June 8th - new music will be posted soon
