This amazing genre defying band is recording their third album. If you're one of the people who thinks you know death metal but hasn't listened to this band yet, then you don't fucking know shit. Their last drop " Everything Is Fire" is easily one of the most innovative albums in the last decade, taking metal to new extremes combing everything from crushing guitars to slow ambience to shit that is just undeniably out there.

Kylesa set release date for new album!!!

Official press release:
Kylesa will release Spiral Shadow, the eagerly anticipated follow-up to their breakthrough album Static Tensions, on October 26 via Season of Mist.
Recorded at the Jam Room in Columbia, SC earlier this summer, the eleven-track album was once again produced by band member and renowned producer Phillip Cope (Baroness, Withered).
Static Tensions received worldwide praise with Spin profiling the band in their November 2009 issue, Terrorizer putting the release in their top five releases of 2009, Pitchfork saying, "If the world were just, Kylesa would be a household name” and Revolver awarding the release 4 stars. Over the past eighteen months, the co-ed Savannah-based quintet worked non-stop including an unrelenting tour schedule that took them around the globe three times, writing songs for the new album and ultimately recording Spiral Shadow."
Kylesa, who are currently on tour in Europe with Converge, will join High On Fire and Torche for a five-week trek beginning Sept. 29 in San Francisco and wrapping up on Nov. 7 at the Fun Fun Fun Festival in Austin. The Georgia band also recently confirmed two additional festival appearances: The Soundwave Festival (Feb. 2011 touring festival in Australia) and the Raleigh-based Hopscotch Music Festival on Sept. 11.
Cruel Hand Going On Tour

Cruel Hand has been stirring things up in Europe for the last couple of weeks and will be returning to North America this weekend, right after their performance at Ieper Fest in Belgium on Friday!
Upon their return to the states, Cruel Hand will tour alongside Bane and Trapped Under Ice in support of their new album Lock & Key. Released July 27th, Lock & Key has been called "...some seriously intense hardcore" and Decoy Music declares that Cruel hand is "... a force to be reckoned with and one of the best hardcore bands in the game."
The band will scour the US starting August 15th with Bane, Trapped Under Ice and Alpha & Omega.
Transit Post New Song

Transit are now streaming a new track off their upcoming album here!. The track "Footwork" will appear on Keep This To Yourself, due out at the end of this month on Run For Cover Records. The band is currently on tour in the U.S. with Fireworks, the Swellers, and Man Overboard.

Comeback Kid - Sympoms + Cures Review

This album kicks off fast and strong. It's definitely a more solid album than "Broadcasting..." was. Comeback Kid really developed a sound on "Broadcasting..." that went a more mature direction than " Wake The Dead " and the infamous " Turn It Around " including with then guitarist Andrew Neufeld replacing then vocalist Scott Wade. Andrew definitely has a way better voice and really helps drive the melodies home in every single song. If you were ever a fan of CBK and maybe got turned away by "Broadcasting..." comeback and check them out again. This album is worth the listen.

Remembering Never Making A Comeback

After nearly four years of inactivity, Remembering Never has lined up a handful of July shows on the East Coast. Vocalist Peter Kowalsky tells us: "We wish RN could make it a full U.S. tour but unfortunately jobs/school/responsibilities get in the way of a 40 day nonstop metalcore party and we simply cannot commit to an extensive run. We are going out for 5 days and bringing some good friends and solid bands. A very eclectic bunch. On the run is Forty Winters, My Amends with Hivemind and Dirty Habits on select dates. When we have free time from reality we will be fitting jam sessions in across the country."
Dates include:
7/10 Pembroke Pines, FL @ The Talent Farm
7/21 Augusta, GA @ Sector 7g
7/22 Virginia Beach, VA @ Skate High (Awesomefest 2010)
7/23 Allentown, PA @ Crocodile Rock Cafe/Cafe Under
7/24 Fredericksburg, VA @ The Refuge
7/25 Columbia, SC @ The Elbow Room
Meanwhile, the group continues to work on their next album, titled "This Hell Is Home." According to Kowalsky, "[The album] will be released through Dead Truth Recordings (unless someone wants to give me a large suitcase full of crisp and clean $100 bills). We are still in the writing process but we have about 4 songs nailed down solid and about 5 more near completion. Every song differs from the others greatly and we are sweating our asses off in the slums of Alligator City to get this shit out finally. Some of you will dig it hard. Others will not. NO CARE EVER."

Terror Set New Album For Release

Keepers of The Faith is 13 new tracks produced by Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory (A Day To Remember, H2O) at Buzzbomb Studios in Orange County, CA. It was engineered by Paul Miner (Death By Stereo, Adamantium) and mixed by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed). Keepers of The Faith is set for an August 30th release throughout Europe and a September 14th throughout North America. Doom Patrol will also be issuing the album in Japan on September 1st.
Vogel sums it all up, "This is the record we put everything we have into, from the music to the lyrics, the layout to the title and to the direct hand to hand street marketing approach, we are putting it all on the line. We took all the rules of what's going on in the industry today and washed them from our minds. We wanted to capture those early days of hardcore. This is the record we were destined to make. This is Terror at its best and I'm so excited to get this out and start touring surrounding its energy and passion."
Cro-Mags "Alpha Omega Reissue

Divebomb Records has partnered with Century Media Records to reissue what Divebomb calls "one of the most overlooked crossover albums ever," Cro-Mags' Alpha Omega. Originally released in 1992, the album has been remastered by Jamie King, includes a bonus music video, and will be limited to 1,000 CDs. A July 13th release is planned.

Ligeia Making A Come Back

After hundreds of shows, thousands of albums sold and one short hiatus, metalcore masters Ligeia are back to reclaim their status as one of heavy music’s hardest working bands.
Originally formed in 2003 by Keith Holuk and Ryan Ober, Ligeia released two albums on Ferret Music, 2006’s “Your Ghost is a Gift”, and “Bad News” in 2008. Recently the band has been breathing life into new songs and the writing process has been nothing short of epic. “Ryan and I have been writing for the last 2 months and the writing process has been going better than we could have ever imagined! With the songs we've written so far, we truly believe fans of both "Your Ghost is a Gift" and "Bad News" will pleasantly impressed as well as satisfied with the work we have done”, said lead vocalist Keith Holuk.
After recently parting ways with Ferret Music, the band has been enjoying the kind of creative freedom that can only come when you are making music strictly for their self and most importantly for their fans. When speaking with the band one thing is clear, they are back stronger than ever and ready to take on the world yet again.
Ligeia will be looking for a record label or distribution partner to release their upcoming third album and will be hitting the road to play new and old music for their fans across the world. As Keith said, “Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten a single face, so to everyone thanks for everything and we will be seeing you very soon!”

Interview With Humanerror

Real stoked on this band hailing from Ft. Worth Texas.
Got a chance to ask them a few questions and get a few answers
1. Who is all in the band?
Josh Green is on vocals, Cody Faulkner and Chris Weis on guitars, Parker Howard is bass, and Matt Dennard plays the drums.
2.How's the band going and how is the reception been from the shows?
Matt HE: Things have been going real solid, pre-orders are up on "Beyond The Wasteland" and from what I've heard have been shipping off to some crazy places throughout the world. Practice has also been steady with some new material in the works. As far as the shows go, the reception just keeps getting better. The last few shows have been our most successful and we're playing on a few more killer lineups later this summer.
3. What can people expect from the Wasteland EP.
Cody HE: Expect some surprises and thoughts of murder...
4. Humanerror defininetly has a very unique sound. What influenced you guys to craft this sound?
Cody HE: As far as music goes, it's especially bands like Entombed, Gorefest, Pestilence and Electric Wizard. As far as life, just the shit we've all gone through.
Josh HE: I think what mainly influenced me were certain events that happened in my life, things that normal people don't usually have to grow up dealing with. Whether it was worrying about where I'm going to live or how I'm even gonna get to school the next day, it was a big factor growing up and a huge influence on my lyrics. A downfall that impacted me more than anyone would ever know, and influenced the darker style of Humanerror that I see, was my mom's passing. It gave me pretty much every tool I needed to craft something out of pure hatred.
5. Would you guys say the Dallas " hardcore" scene is on an uprising finally?
Josh HE: Well, I think that both Dallas and Fort Worth have clashed together to form one, big versatile scene today. Right now all the shows have been looking pretty good, especially in the summer. They've been awesome and full of nice faces every day. So yeah, I would say it's on an uprising.
Matt HE: Just look at some of the hardcore bands the area's got going on right now. You've got bands like Power Trip, ANS, Life Erased, Decades, Endtimes, of course it's nice to see us getting some exposure, and I'm sure there are plenty more to come. It seems like the north Texas hardcore scene finally has a lot of potential packed within it.
6. What are the plans for Humanerror both in the near future and within the next year or so?
Cody HE: Tour and writing more new material. God knows... SIKE.
Matt HE: Definitely getting on the road some. And after the release of the 7", start working on a full-length. I've noticed quite a few more popular bands in the realm of punk/metal/hardcore that release 7" after split after 7" and have difficulty when it comes to executing on an LP. I want to prove that we can successfully put out an LP early on.
7. Any last words?
Matt HE: Check out our debut 7" "Beyond The Wasteland" on Withdrawal Records, pre-orders are up (www.withdrawalrecords.com) and we'll be dropping it for a record release show July 8th at 1919 Hemphill in Fort Worth.
Cop their "Beyond the Wasteland" 7" at Withdrawal Records.

Official press release:
At Chi Cheng's routine checkup on May 19th, 2010, it was apparent to Dr. Joseph Nguyen, who has followed his progress for the past 8 months, that there was marked improvement. He wrote in his progress notes that Cheng was "showing signs of improved Neuro Function and improved alertness at this time. Increased Response to Verbal Stimuli. Directed Movement, with purpose seen and observed." Amazing report for Cheng, who was involved in a car accident November 3rd, 2008 and spent much of the last 18 months in a semi-conscious state.
According to Cheng's sister, Mae, Nguyen's reaction as soon as he walked into the room and saw her brother was profound. "When he came in, he took one look at Dai [Cheng] and was floored. He couldn't believe it. He saw a man waking up," This coming after the beginning phases of a very specific ‘wake up' protocol that was implemented in mid January 2010.
Dr. DeFina, Chief Scientific Officer and founder of International Brain Research Foundation (www.ibrfinc.org) along with Dr. Jonathan Fellus, director of Brain Injury Services at the Kessler Institute, got Cheng started on the groundbreaking protocol that applies already approved medications, electrical stimulation and nutraceuticals to the patient as a virtual cocktail that has had a dramatic impact on his patients. So dramatic that DeFina has an 84% success rate in waking up patients from minimally conscious states or vegetative state comas. The national average for patients emerging from these states is 3 – 7%.
DeFina and colleagues were recently featured on an episode of MTV's "True Life | I Have Traumatic Brain Injury". After the episode aired, DeFina told Gina Blackmore of One Love For Chi (www.oneloveforchi.com) that all three of the TBI patients featured on the show, who are all able to walk and talk and continue to strive for improvement, had been like Cheng is now or worse when he had taken them on as patients.
This news is encouraging, but funds are greatly needed to ensure that Cheng can continue on his protocol. Gina Blackmore is determined to raise enough funds to not only keep Cheng in Dr. DeFina's care, but also to get him into one of the top medical facilities in the nation where he will be under the direct care of the doctors from IBRF. She has set a new goal of $500,000 in order to cover the $2,000 per day cost of staying at the facility for 3-6 months or longer as well as transportation to the facility. It is a lofty goal but well worth the effort to bring Cheng back to his family and friends.
Along with Blackmore, Sonny Sandoval of the band P.O.D. and The Whosoevers (www.thewhosoevers.com) have been a continuing force in fundraising and keeping Cheng on the minds of followers via Facebook. Together they have put a call out to not only friends and fans of Cheng but to bands local, national and international to help their fallen fellow musician with benefit concerts. All funds raised can be paid directly to The Chi Ling Cheng Special Needs Trust by clicking the donate button at www.oneloveforchi.com.
For more information on fundraising news, events, updates on Cheng's continuing recovery and messages from family and friends visit www.oneloveforchi.com.

New Dimmu Borgir Album In The Works

Official press release:
Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir proudly announce their collaboration with Norwegian composer and Berklee College of Music summa cum laude alumnus Gaute Storaas in addition to the 51 members of KORK (the Norwegian Radio Orchestra) and the 38-member Schola Cantorum Choir for their as-yet-untitled new album.
To date, over 101 musicians have lent their talents to the making of the new release.
Composer Gaute Storaas shares some insight on what it's like to work with Dimmu Borgir:
"There have been several attempts of dressing up rock bands in suits, bow ties, and symphonic splendor - to various degrees of success. Working with Dimmu Borgir is quite different. Their music is epic, thematic and symphonic already from the creation; they are clearly having an orchestral approach to composing. My role in this is sometimes just to transcribe their themes, sometimes to take their ideas, tear them apart and build them back up in ways that are true to the band's intentions. The music must also be both interesting and playable for the musicians, and hopefully, meet the quality standards of the orchestral world."
Dimmu Borgir's ninth studio album will be released in Germany on October 8th, in the rest of Europe on October 11th, and in North America on October 12th.

The Wonder Years Signs To Hopeless Records

Hopeless Records has officially signed Philadelphia pop-punk/hardcore band The Wonder Years. Formed in 2005, the group has previously put out several releases through No Sleep Records.
The band comments: "Hopeless was the right choice for us. We've never been concerned with sounding like the other bands on a label. I mean, when we signed with No Sleep there were two other bands on the label. One sounded like Botch and the other sounded like Modest Mouse. For us, it's more important that a label gets us and what we want to do and after a ton of meetings with Hopeless, we know that it’s the right home for us. The roster is small and so we know we won't get lost in the mix. The staff members are hard working and super nice. We respect all of the charity work the label does and are excited to be a part of a label that has such an interest in helping people. Hopeless has an amazing back catalog full of some of my all-time favorite records and we're really honored to have the chance to even be mentioned in the same breath as some of their bands.
I don't think they're sad anymore.
